Worth the $$ – Bought these for my wife . She shoots local tournaments and the range a lot . Over the ears are not comfortable for wearing for hours. She likes these and they sound good

  2. Skeezix

Very comfortable – These cancel noise like a set of foam ear plugs without the electronics turned on. I would prefer another level of volume for my tired old ears, but they are sufficient for most range commands. Very comfortable, I think I said that already!

  3. Verified Purchaser

I Wish I could give these 5 stars…I’ve been considering “in the ear” hearing protection for several years. I chose the ProEars Stealth HT because they had no cords to hang down, fit over the ears, are rechargeable, and I had previous experience with ProEars noise cancelling ear muffs. I did not need Bluetooth connectivity because my plan was to wear them for hunting and shooting.
I just returned from a two-day shooting class where I wore these 100% of the time. This is what I found:
    PROS –
    – Noise cancellation is excellent
    – They are comfortable and stay out of the way
    – Battery life was excellent.
    CONS –
    – They are terrible in windy conditions. Wind noise is amplified and makes hearing anyone speaking in the background almost impossible to hear.
    – When you shut them off, say on a break, everything resets to a default setting. Everything. The response time and the volume need to be fiddled with every time you put them on. To get around this, you must leave them on when you take them off for lunch or anything else.
    – There is a learning curve to the controls. I had to look at the instructions a few times to figure out the difference between One and Two beeps on the response time. Then I had to remember which button was the On/Off, which was the Response, and which side of the Volume made it louder. Tactile feedback is poor and, other than the initially confusing response beeps, there is no audio feedback until you get to full loud or full soft on the volume.

In summary, the do work well other than for the background wind noise. With use, the controls finally become familiar. The default reset of settings can be overcome by leaving them on.

As a side note, wind noise can be an issue with amplified hearing protection, but many products, like the ProEars Gold muffs, have foam covers over the microphones which helps to mitigate it. It will be interesting to see how these work during upland bird hunting season.h I could give these 5 stars….

  4. Cynthia Slawson

The technology is dead on – So far I like everything. They work as advertised and most important, they do not have the flimsy, pain in the …well..you know battery trays of all the other electronic ear protection. I used my HTBT and immediately ordered two sets of the HT. I also spread the word to the API (Gunsite) list and they bought all the remaining items at Amazon. I also wrote up a glowing report on Shotgun World .com.
T this short time frame, I cannot respond to the longevity or reliability of either the Stealth HTBT or the HT but based on over 20 years of experience with all things Pro Ears, I think they will be good to go.

No More Pressure – No more pressure on the ears like with the muffs! I have the HTBT as well and this works just like it without the blue tooth feature. Six volume adjustments vs 4 on the BT. Does not do “Power On” “Power Off” as the BT. Compression also reduces conversation volume a bit – but not like the clipped electronic units. These ear bud units are the new wave. Like this unit vs another brand due to compactness vs a long lanyard to deal with and controllers dangling from each ear. This will be a loaner, compact enough to carry as a spare set.

  6. MJ

No more fat ear muff – Its almost perfect. Sounds good, noise cancelling good, but the cord that hang on my ear hurts after a long day of use.
